Mt. Tam

Well Mt. Tam was quite an adventure. I didn't train for it at all and ended up with a much better time than I anticipated. My unrealistic goal time was 45:00. I ended up a little shy of that with a 45:57. On the flat section I felt amazing and for the first little while going up the climb I managed to stick with the lead 5 for a short while before blowing off the back. During my ascent I integrated into a couple of different groups, where I usually sat on the front doing my own pace so as to not blow up too hard. Ultimately; I blew up anyways and finished a mere 57 seconds slower then the goal that I had set as "unrealistic" for myself.
By far the coolest part of the race was the view over into San Francisco on the back side of the mountain (pictured). It was such a lovely day that the whole skyline was visible along with the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate. Sweetness

Now I'm pretty stoked for some time off from the bike and gaining weight again... shoot. I may try my hand at some crazy track races as well =] we will see.
